May 21, 2018 – “Serving on Corporate Boards”, Wharton Club of NY

Click below for more information on how to attend this panel at the Wharton Alumni Club of New York.

Many Wharton graduates serve on corporate boards and find the experience professionally stimulating and career-enhancing. Learn about the benefits and obligations of serving on a corporate board, and the process of interviewing for a board director role. If you are on a board already, get an update on the trends in corporate governance.

Because of the strong interest Wharton alums have in corporate board service, the Wharton Club of New York is hosting an event featuring Julie Daum (WG’79), who leads the North American Board Practice and was a long standing board member of Spencer Stuart, a leading executive search firm in the boardroom.

This session will cover:

  • How the composition of boards is changing
  • What credentials boards are looking for
  • What process boards use to recruit new directors and how that is changing
  • What influence institutional and activist stakeholders are having on boardroom composition
  • What is happening with the increase focus on diversity
